June went by in a blur, and July is under way! Hard to believe how fast the time is passing. Time is an artist’s most valuable resource, so I’m doing my best to make the days, hours, even seconds count. Trying to make the most of it!
Open House was great – by the way we are still open! (9am-6pm Wed-Sun) Despite my last-minute panic & scramble to set up my gallery, everything turned out just fine. If anything, I have learned not to underestimate the time and work it takes to prepare a show. Measuring, wiring, hanging, lighting, labeling, etc. – it all adds up! All in all, the show was a success. Even made two much-appreciated sales! Big thank you to my awesome gymnast models Jude, Ben, & Dom! And to Avery White for writing such a nice article about the show: thirdpersoncreative.com.
Next week I will be instructing a kids’ fine arts camp at the Brazos Valley Arts Council. Getting excited! And then later this month we are planning to host a painting event here at the Horlock House. BYOB, come have some fun painting with us as we walk you through a painting step by step. Everyone will leave with their own masterpiece! Tickets are $25 – more info on that soon, but the date to save is July 30.
Anyways, more art to do!
Until next time!
